About Us
Zanskar Research is a systematic trading and technology firm developing proprietary trading strategies and market-making algorithms for capital markets. The firm combines quantitative research, data-driven decision making, and technology to design and operate automated trading systems across diverse market environments. Its focus lies in applying rigorous analysis and engineering to solve complex challenges in modern financial markets.

The Role
We're looking for a strong fresher graduate with solid fundamentals in networking, Linux, and systems engineering to join our infrastructure team as a Graduate Engineer Trainee. You'll train directly in our mission-critical, low-latency trading environment, where performance is measured in microseconds, working alongside senior network engineers and system administrators. This is a hands-on learning role with a clear, structured path to a full Network Engineer position.

What You'll Do
  • Learn and support data-center networking: VLANs, routing, and L2/L3 fundamentals
  • Get introduced to low-latency networking concepts through structured training, covering 10/25/40/100GbE, multicast, and DPDK/OpenOnload
  • Build a foundational understanding of exchange connectivity, HFT systems architecture, and market data flow
  • Assist in monitoring network health and troubleshooting latency and connectivity issues
  • Shadow senior network engineers on switch and network device configuration
  • Help deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers across Ubuntu, Red Hat, and other distributions
  • Learn performance-tuning practices such as CPU pinning, NUMA awareness, and kernel parameter tuning
  • Write and maintain Bash/Python automation scripts for routine network and operational tasks
  • Support system patching, security hygiene, and upgrade cycles
  • Help build and maintain monitoring dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana

What We're Looking For

  • Strong fundamentals in networking: TCP/IP, routing, switching, and core protocol concepts
  • Working knowledge of Linux: file systems, processes, shell usage
  • Comfort writing scripts in Bash and/or Python
  • Genuine curiosity about low-latency networking, systems performance, or financial markets infrastructure
  • Strong problem-solving ability and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Good communication skills, since you'll be working closely with traders, quants, and developers

Good to Have (not mandatory)
  • Personal projects, internships, or coursework involving networking or Linux administration
  • Exposure to cloud or virtualization platforms
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) or version control (Git)
  • Networking or Linux certifications (CCNA, RHCSA, LPIC) are a plus, not required

Academic Qualifications
  • B.Tech / Dual Degree in CSE, ECE, EE, or a related field
  • CGPA of 7.5/10 or above
  • Graduated in 2026
Why Join Us
  • Direct mentorship from senior network and infrastructure engineers working on cutting-edge low-latency systems
  • Structured onboarding into HFT infrastructure, exchange connectivity, and ultra-low-latency networking
  • Fast-track growth path into a specialized Network Engineer / System Administrator role
