Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Trading Operations professional with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in equity and options markets to join our trading desk. In this role, you will independently monitor live trading activity, execute orders manually, manage positions through market hours, and act as the first line of defence against errors and risk breaches. You’ll work closely with senior traders and take ownership of daily desk operations, from pre-market checks to end-of-day reconciliation.
What You Will Do
- Independently monitor live positions, orders and market movements on trading terminals throughout market hours
- Execute, modify and cancel orders manually across equities and F&O as per trading instructions, with speed and accuracy
- Track positions, margin utilisation and intraday P&L in real time, and act quickly on discrepancies
- Identify and escalate price spikes, erroneous fills, rejected orders, limit breaches and unusual market activity
- Manage expiry-day operations, including monitoring of open option positions, rollovers and physical settlement exposure
- Ensure adherence to risk limits, position limits and exchange margin requirements throughout the day
- Reconcile executed trades with order instructions and broker or exchange confirmations, and resolve breaks
- Track corporate actions, F&O ban lists and circulars that affect positions
- Maintain accurate trade logs, position trackers and daily reports in Excel
- Document incidents and handle first-level resolution before escalating
- Support and guide junior team members on desk processes and SOPs
- Suggest improvements to monitoring checklists and desk workflows

- Solid understanding of options: calls and puts, moneyness, premium behaviour, option Greeks, and the risks of buying versus writing options
- Hands-on experience with manual order execution and order types such as market, limit, stop-loss and IOC
- Experience with at least one trading terminal or order management platform
- Working knowledge of margin requirements (SPAN and exposure margins), position limits and risk controls
- Proficiency in Excel for tracking, reconciliation and reporting
- Clear communication when escalating issues in real time
Good to Have:
- Experience handling expiry days and high-volatility sessions
- Exposure to options strategies such as spreads, straddles and hedged positions
- Familiarity with exchange circulars, SEBI regulations and compliance requirements for trading desks
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
